Hi, James:
I have a very small set-up that fits on one small dolly, about two feet wide and three-and-a-half feet long.
I use one older Yamaha powered speaker, with a 15 inch woofer, a tweeter and very basic built-in mixer. It has two xlr inputs and one quarter-inch input. Sounds wonderful, and has high-and low-frequency roll-offs.
The speaker sits atop an SKB case containing an older, top-of-the-line Denon minidisc player, with a footswitch to start the tracks.
Along with the speaker and minidisc, the dolly carries an acoustic guitar, 5-string banjo, tenor banjo, hammered dulcimer, a multi-instrument stand, mic stand and bag of cables etc. Sometimes I also bring a mandolin. All this goes on a flatbed dolly, and I truck everything into the venue in one trip.
I perform with the speaker and minidisc on the dolly.
I've happily used this set-up for around 10 years, roughly 2000 shows. |
