Two months ago - September 2009 my buddies from Seattle Casey MacGill's Blue 4 Trio were on tour in the Midwest. They spent a few days at my house between gigs.

We recorded these two tunes in my living room with a single Zoom H4N handheld recorder. No rehearsal, all first takes, all acoustic except for the lap steel.

Casey MacGill - uke, cornet, lead vocals. Matt Weiner - bass, vocals. Mike Daugherty - snare drum, vocals. Gerald Ross - 1954 Fender Champion Lap Steel in C6 tuning.

HOT SWING!

Yeah Gerald - that's some tasty playing! I love the "room" sound of the steel.

Nice Gerald, is that the new amp? I think I know Mike Daugherty - if he used to live in Baltimore.

Hi Dave,

Mike Daugherty is "the" Mike you know from Baltimore - same guy. The amp is my Roland Cube Street. This stuff was recorded two months ago. I've only had the Swart amp for a few weeks now.

Thanks Steve!
