The gig went very well. Scott Gerber showed up and sat in for a couple songs. Sweet!
It was the first extended gig for my Desert Rose S-8, and the guitar performed perfectly. The Rangers' repertoire is mostly country blues and western swing, so it's not surprising that the D6th-based copedent worked well. It also handled Scott's Bakersfield-flavored rendition of "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down", to everyone's delight. I think this is a keeper.

b0b, does the A to B raise cause any problem with the string that's already tuned to B? |

Billy, I do get a slight sympathetic vibration from it if I don't mute it with my little finger. I'm used to using that muting technique from my E9th, where I raise the middle F# to G#.
Also, I often use RKR to raise B to C when I use the first pedal, and that keeps the ghost note away. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Thanks for covering b0b!
Looks like the Rangers last gig is this Saturday the 21st at the Ace in the Hole Pub. Maybe I should take my Fender 400 8 string out for a test run! _________________ Dave Zirbel-

Don McClellan had a similar problem on his B tuned Kline. He solved it by having the 6th note go up a half step along with the other raises. I guess that would eliminate the need for the extra blocking. |

Billy - that's what I do with my RKR fairly often (raise the 6th tone to a b7th). I'm used to doing the same physical move on E9th, where RKR lowers D# to D. Most of the time with pedals down I want that b7th note. There are other times when I really want the doubled note, though, so I wouldn't want to gang that raise onto pedal 1.
Dave - I was sorry to hear that the Rhythm Rangers are breaking up. The crowd response last weekend was really good. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Me too. I guess me giving my "two weeks notice" was the cause! I offered suggestions for replacements but I guess the gigs aren't coming in and some of the others are ready for a break too. _________________ Dave Zirbel-
