FYI,
I just fixed a chronic reverb problem in my Nashville 1000. The problem was the reverb would be either off or on, or on and weak, or on but with overall sound distorted. Usually could get it back to working by twistng the input and output plugs, but it finally died.

After taking the unit out of the 'sack', and unplugging both ends the problem was apparent; the pin jack outer surfaces (ground) were all corroded on both the input and otput. Tried some emery cloth to polish if off, but the underneath metal was not conductive. Luckily I had an exact replacement for my Session 500 which I had not used;swapped it out and amp now works fine.

Lesson learned for me: just because the corrosion can be cleaned off, does not mean the metal underneath is still conductive. I plan to change out the RCA jacks and use the old one as a spare.

Thanx,
Jim

ps - reheating or re-soldering the wire connections did not fix it. The center connectors were perfect, only the ground ones had the crud on them.
