I just love a Zum Hybrid. It doesn't get any better.

I am a happy new Hybrid owner to. I also own a Push/Pull and a "regular" Zum, and the Hybrid is the closest thing to a Push/pull I have ever heard. Fantastic guitar, really sounds great in recording.

tore..your tastes run the same as mine, though i don't own a hybrid. i've seen that steel on here before and always loved the color scheme. plus, it's got enough pedals for my set-up...so if you ever want to donate it to a good cause, give me a call. (i'll pay shipping).
bill or tore...
how do you find the tuning process for the hybrid compared to the other steels? |

I still have this one. Hybrid E9 with a regular changer on the C neck. Once you get used to it, it becomes normal. I don't think it would work out so good for me with a hybrid changer on the both necks.

Hi Bill, impressive collection of quality steels you got!
Chris: This Hybrid will spend the rest of it's life in Norway!
I find tuning a Hybrid (or Push/pull) a tiny bit more complicated than an all/pull, but this quality guitars stays in tune a long time. _________________ Emmons D-10 P/P 78", Franklin D-10, Zum Encore. Sho-Bud LDG |

Would you mind expanding on that statement? I'm curious as to why not a hybrid changer on the C neck. An email would be fine if you'd rather not elaborate on it here.
Absolutely stunningly gorgeous examples of fine ZumSteel guitars BTW. |

Jerry I am just trying to figure out that tuning and I think it would just complicate it too much for me right now. Maybe in a few years but not now. _________________ JCH D10, 71 D10 P/p fat back, Telonics TCA 500C--12-,Fender JBL Twin, Josh Swift signature. |

I have a D-10 Hybrid also both necks. I have no problem tuning. Sounds great. Just a bit different sounding from my standard changer Zum. I'd love to hear that wood body guitar. |

Bill brought his new Zum over yesterday. I know what a good hybrid sounds like. I have played quite a few and own two. His new one is really exceptionally great sounding. Congrats.

|
|
All of the pictured Zums are beautiful . Is there a distinct difference in the pedal / KL action between the Hybrid compared to the non Hybrid models built after '00 ? My Zum is an '02 and i didn't think it could get any smoother , but i've never played a Hybrid.

Hi Skip, I have an 01 standard and a new 08 Hybrid and there is nothing particularly different in the way they feel or play ...but the Hybrid does have a subtle difference in tone -- in a really good way !
The only major difference is in the way you tune the primary raises ! (like a push-pull) It still has all the splits etc that you would have on a standard all-pull Zum. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I was playing my D-10 Zum hybrid the other day and I marveled to myself about the p/p "growl" I was getting out of the lower strings. |
