My very first pedal steel was similar. Two legs, heel and toe pedals in the case, cables... it broke strings like crazy and couldn't stay in tune, but it made me an addict.

Somewhere I have the brochure for that guitar (the one in the ebay ad). It's a very early Magnatone, from about 1961 (minus the plastic pickup and changer covers). Later models were identical, but have "bar" fret markers instead of dots.

Well,, the auction is over, and it didn't get even one bid. Maybe it will come back with a more reasonable asking price. Still, I'd love to have it! Too bizarre!

Thanks Michael Lee! Funds are so short now, that even if they cut the price in half, I couldn't justify buying it. But I still think it's funky cool! Looking forward to the "package!
