These online jamming/collaboration communities have been around for a while but bandwidth and latency have always plagued any attempt I've made to use them. Apparently, eJamming has developed into a mature real-time service. Fender recently bought them and I'm hoping it will be around long enough to catch on.

ejamming.com

Has anyone ever tried it? There's a 30-day trial that I'm going to download soon and am wondering how large and diverse is the community of users?

I might finally have a justification for keeping my Pod XT. It's one of the supported interfaces.

I've seen these attempts since the mid 90s (remember ResRocket?), with limited success. The system hardware and network requirements are still pretty steep for most people. I think it will come together eventually, but I don't know if this particular site will be the way.
