If You Record It - I Will Air It On TV

That’s right folks, I have just been given this assurance from Poorman and the producers of Poorman’s Bikini Beach.

Every original Theme song (30-90 seconds) that is submitted will at some point be used somewhere in the show.

Here is how it is going to work.

The show is set to begin airing in the Los Angels market on KDOC the first week of Nov. in the 10:30 to 11:00 PM time slot. Just before that launch date the producers will pick 1 theme song to be the main theme that is used for the intro to each and every episode.

All other theme song submissions are absolutely guaranteed placement somewhere else in the show in at least one episode. They may be used as an Outro over credits, they may be used with wrap a rounds, station IDs or Bumpers to commercials or show segments but somewhere at sometime they will air.

When they air you will receive the following info in the show credits.

Artist or Band Name
Website URL
The Contact Info You publish (either email or phone)

In addition all bands who have music used in the show will be listed on a special page on the website that correlates to the TV show and will be promoted through the show. This page will also provide full contact info and a band or artist image and an active link to your site. The site is currently under redevelopment and will return shortly with a very fresh look.

The show is expected to be syndicated to multiple markets across the US by mid 2003 and will begin running full bore in a 5 episode a week strip starting in January so the potential for a lot of great exposure is very good here.

To take advantage of this unheard of guaranteed TV Airtime here is what you need to do.

Email me at bobby@cmapmusic.com and I will send you the release form which must be filled out, signed and mailed back to me along with a CD copy of your Theme Song Submission

Theme songs should be from 30-90 seconds

They can be instrumental or have a lyric

If lyrical they need to include the title of the show "Poorman's Bikini Beach" at least once in the first 30 seconds.

They must be submitted on CD in CD format no MP3s and all submissions must be accompanied by a signed release form. Submissions not accompanied by a release form will be ineligible for airtime on the show.

If you have not already submitted music for consideration in the soundtrack of the show you may submit it at the same time you submit a theme.

The producers should begin picking music from the general submissions that have already been made in the next 2 weeks. When they do I will make an announcement of all tracks and artists licensed for use.

As far as the feel of the show, hey the title really says it all! Think beaches, girls, bikinis and more girls and bikinis and you have the gist of it.

Make it yours just brand the show name and have some fun with it. There is a cash payment ($1,000.00)in store for the writer of the theme selected as the main theme.

I will provide the shipping address when I email the release form to you.

Note that I will be offline for the next 24-48 hours while I move my office to Laguna Niguel from Brea so if I do not respond with the release until Monday do not fear it will be in your box by Tuesday at the outside.

I look forward to working with you and hearing your theme songs.
Thanks,

Hi Bobby

I have some instrumental "Surf Songs" that I wrote about 15 years ago with the twangy guitar (almost Venturish) sound. Let me know if you'd be interested and if so I will send you a CD.

Thanks

$1000 for an ORIGINAL composition that has been produced recorded at great expense, and will be broadcast on TV? Provided it wins? And provided you sign your rights away?
And nobody else gets paid?

Please move to humor.
[This message was edited by Peter on 28 September 2002 at 02:21 AM.]

OK Hahahaha I'm laughing but if you don't like this deal you surely won't like my comedy.

My friend the show is a cable access show in regional distribution. It has aspireations of being more but currently that is all it is so the $1,000.00 compensation is actually very good when compared to most opportunities provided the Indie Artists to break into the oh so very cliqish world of TV and Film. Oh wait a minute; I forgot; Inide artists don't get opportunities to break into TV and Film unless they know someone at the WB or MTV.

What could I have been thinking to even offer this opportunity to artists?

BTW sorry for the delay in response here. I recently moved and just regaind access to the email account to which the response notification for this thread was sent.
