Can anyone explain why or what this, I believe is a resistor is for, in my 120 Goodrich Volume pedal? I was changing the Pot and noticed this for the first time. Or perhaps I forgot it before. It is between the tip lugs of the output jacks. Tom Bradshaw says that this is unusual.

I'd guess it's an isolation resistor, probably put between the two jacks to help prevent impedance interactions between two devices (e.g., with a tuner and an amp). Amplifiers have the same type of isolation resistor setup when there's two jacks going into one preamp (channel). It helps prevent a guitar or mike plugged into one channel from affecting another guitar or mike plugged into the same channel. |

Jonathan,
looks like you got a zero Ohm resistor there.
Which means it is the same as a piece of wire.
It is often used for automated PCB populating, since a machine can handle it just like other resistors (no reprogramming) and better than bare wire.
Guess it was just in reach when someone wanted to link the jacks.
HereĀ“s one:

I've got a very old Model 120 and it has a piece of plain, uninsulated wire soldered across those two points. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande
