Just purchased the Deelay from Chad Johnson from Cmatmods. Fantastic little delay that sounds like an analog. Wow!!My DD3 (with hi cut) was blown away by the Deelay. Sounds fantastic in effects loop. Might be an option for anyone looking for a natural sounding delay small box.Simple three knobs up to 600ms. Doesn't affect tone at all just great delay!Like it much better than carbon copy I borrowed. Just thought I'd pass it along.

I use a Deelay too & love it. Mine's an earlier version, it's just a gray box before they started screenprinting the logo in there. The delay time is slightly less then the newer ones. I was looking for a simple, great sounding analog-voiced delay pedal and this fits the bill wonderfully. |

Randy,
Could you give me your approximate settings for your Deeelay pedal. Tried using mine last night, had to pull it out of the loop before the show. Distorted my NV112 sound bad. Are you going into the effects loop. I tried it post Vol pedal and pre Vol pedal, no change. I was using Delay 12:00, Blend 10:00, Repeats 9:30. When I tried it at home, low volume, sounded great. Also using a Boss PSA-120T power brick.
Hoping to use it tonight... |

I pretty much use the same settings as you stated, Dick except the delay is at 2:00. The instructions do state not to keep both the blend and delay too much past 12 o'clock as it will give alittle distortion based on its analog emulation circuitry. It seems your settings are fine. Must be something else.I've used it with my 112 and a Hilton and it was OK (in loop) but not near as good as with the 400. My Hilton will overdrive any delay I used after it if you don't turn its volume control down, thats why I use the loop..My Deelay is clear and no distortion. Either its your 112 (which can be overdriven at the input, still may sound good at low volume), your pedal chain, your pickups are too near the strings or maybe contact Chad about something wrong with your pedal (which is a slight possibility).I love mine and put my DD3 away. I'd first go with Randy's suggestion and try another amp.Good luck! |

I use a one spot power supply but I have used a Boss PSA-120 too! They were plugged into a Pedal Power AC outlet. Try it with a battery for a few minutes to rule out power supply issues. The pedal shouldn't alter your tone at all. |

Used mine tonight... It worked as it should. I hooked it up in the effects loop of my NV112 and didn't have a single issue. Simple to adjust(for an old guy) and virtually noise free in the mix. I like its delay much better then the DD-5 I've been using. Still need to play around with it and get the setting dialed in, but I'm very pleased with the Deeelay. Thanks to all for the encouragement and support. Dick S... |
