I feel bad posting this but I think I’ve waited long enough now. Is anyone on this forum in personal contact with someone from Carter? Cell phone or anything?

I learned on this forum that Carter is out of the country for a trade show. That was AFTER I used their online form to purchase a case from them. That was back on Oct. 5th. It’s been over 2 weeks and none of my e-mails or voice mails have been answered. I’m not trying to be pushy. All I want is confirmation that a human being received my order and get an idea when my order will ship.

Carter has been great in answering my stupid questions in the past. And the Carter products I own are great. But I don’t understand how an entire company can just up and leave the country for weeks without checking e-mail or voice messages. Carter should have put a message on their order form notifying customers of the situation before you buy something.

If anyone can inform them that they have a customer patiently waiting it would be appreciated.

P.S. Yes, I used CARTER in the subject line of my e-mails to avoid their spam filter.

I think they have been at the Irish steel show which has just finished ...so they should be home soon... they are a small team and probably needed the holiday Very Happy

I'm sure they will get back to you once they catch their breath !!

Yes, they were on vacation for a week or so even before coming to Ireland, so I'm sure they have a bit of catching up to do, and I'm sure they will get to it.

I bought my Carter D10 about this time last year and waited about three weeks for delivery because the good folks at Carter were away at various events, as they advised me they would be.

Have patience and have faith, John and Anne will do right by you. They have always been unfailingly courteous and helpful to me.

Shaun,
I, too am in a similar situation and hestitate to post about it. I wish I'd known they were gone.
I placed and order Sept. 28, via, the web site for a pick up. I received an e-mail right away saying they'd ship within one to two weeks after receiving payment. Well, I paid by credit card, so there should've been no wait.
After two weeks and having heard nothing, I called, plus I e-mailed requesting a cancellation. BTW, I left a voice message on their phone as no one was home.
In the meantime I ordered the p'up from another source.
Lo and behold yesterday I get an e-mail from UPS saying shipping was in progress from Carter. Being as it was night time I e-mailed the Carter co. and reminded them I didn't want the p'up afterall and do not debit my account.
THis morning I check my bank account and guess what...they did it!
I made a call again this morning and finally spoke with a gentleman, who didn't say who he was. He said he'd do his best to cancel the order. I can only hope. Got a dreaded feeling I'm going to be stuck with a pick up that I don't need.
But like you said, a message indicating they were out of the country would've been very nice!!

Carter got back to me today with the tracking number and ship date. I'm happy now.

I want to re-emphasize that my only gripe was the communication issue. I love my Carter PSG and I will probably buy my next one from them. If anyone is considering a Carter I would whole heartedly recommend their products.

I only put this problem out to the forum as a last resort. (Practice with my new band starts soon and I can't haul my ax around in a bag)

They might still be out of the country. Rest assured, they are not going to jeopardize their reputation on your sale!

Carter is known for their communication and deliverance.

Just be thankful that you did not order an Emmons!

Talk about receiving the cold shoulder!...............

The topic was communication. There were other places I could've ordered from and I would've had I known they were out of town. It's not a matter of patience. It's not knowing what's going on that bugs me.

John bought a Magnum from Herby Wallace and he says it is the best guitar he has ever played, and I agree with him on the sound, they are doing something right, I sure liked my Carter 8&8 trade with Garland Nash, and wish I could have kept it. I was going to trade my 35 year old rebuilt ShoBud with Coop parts but the girls said it never sounded as good as it did with the rack and barrels, and they told me to sell one of the family. I traded it for a williams and it fit so well I sold all my other guitars except the 6 string National made by supro.
There are a lot of good guitars being sold today, I feel Carter is right up there with the best of them, they always treated me right.
When I called them for info on the Carter IU bought from Garland, John Fabian told me all the info about the guitar without looking up the info, and the upgrade was done in 2002, that is some memory, I wish I was that good.

Thanks John for your help when I was a carter owner.

As final note I walked up to him in Dalas 2009 without my name tag and said hello and he said hi Ernie, we had met only one time before in 2007 in St Louis, I said how do you remember me, his answer was everybody Knows ernie cawby, not many people can pronouunce my last name right, my aunt for 35 years never did.

My little problem has been solved!
Thank you John Fabian!
The item wasn't shipped and I'll receive a credit.
Again, many thanks!
