...at least, that what I think! Maybe a friendly forumite can help?
A - Who played on the original cut of "Spadella" by Spade Cooley? Noel Boggs or Joaquin Murphey? I have different sources naming both.
B - Was there ever a 7-string version of the Rickenbacher frypan?
C - How is the order of strings in Jerry Byrd's C6/A7 tuning, when used with seven strings? My guess, lo to hi: C-C#-E-G-A-C-E.
Or is it the other way round: C#-C-E-G-A-C-E?
Sorry, if that has been asked before, couldn't find anything about it.
Kind regards, Nils |

...unless I got that wrong too...
I think 1937 is when the first 7 str. pans showed up.
Only one 8 str. ever made. It went to David Kelii. |

The correct sequence for Jerry Byrd's C6/A7 tuning is:
Low to Hi C-C#-E-G-A-C-E.

The original studio recording of Spadella with a harp intro has a rather short Noel Boggs solo in the second half of the song.
There is a transcription recording of the song available on CD with an accordion intro in which Joaquin takes a long and dazzling solo in the first half of the song. |

The JERRY BYRD Sho-Bud & Excel, and JERRY BYRD/SHOT Jackson's FryPans are of course, 8 strings.
Was contributed as a side-note only! |
