I wish I could have been there. Both Jim and Bob are terrific players and good people.
It's nice of you, David, to bring attention to these great players. They are both very deserving.

Jim is a great player but even better than that he is a great person.

???? Steel Play + Great Guy + from Philly = how can that be (only once)

He comes out every year to the SWSGA show in Phoenix and lights up the room.

I am a big fan of Steel Guitar Jazz, and these two guys are two of the best. Wish I could have been there too.

It sure was a pleasure listening to Jim and Bob play especially when they played together.

Two of my musician friends came to the show on the second day. This was the first steel show they had every been to in their lives. They sat in stunned appreciation of what they were hearing. They have now resolved never to miss another Irish steel show again. They're even thinking about travelling to St. Louis or Dallas next year.

Gentlemen, thank you for your kind remarks. It was a pleasure to get to hear David in person; he played an excellent set and obviously has full command of the instrument. Great technique! And Paul Brennan opened the show with a very fine set as well. I'd not had the pleasure to hear him before and I'm glad I did this time. There are now some snippets of video making their way onto Youtube and portions of Paul's set is among them so be sure to check them out.

I'm still in Ireland, having spent the last two days knocking around Dublin and the surrounding countryside. Bob and Debra Taillefer flew off for home this morning and we had a fun day together yesterday in Dublin.

Thanks again to all for your nice comments.

Jim is fantastic and yeah, he's a good cat to boot (that's just a bonus!). Hey Jim, have a great time in Ireland...my Mother's side of the family are most all from County Clare but I've never been there...maybe one of these days. Have a great rest of your trip and a safe trip home.
