on the new cd "Enchanted" the steel player is Mark Deffenbaugh and he's the band's regular steeler these days...at least that's my understanding. It's another great cd too ...Mark has a different sound from Mike Neer and from the band's first steel player Henry Bogdan.... all 3 are excellent players.

It's interesting how the wood-bodied resophonic colors their overall sound and vibe so differently than Mike's tricone did. I've heard all three steel players, all of them fine musicians but personally speaking, for my taste, the Moonlighters never sounded better than when Mike was their steel player.

From the Moonlighters web site
THE MOONLIGHTERS have been a part of the New York City jazz and pop music scenes since they formed in 1998. Based around a core of harmonized vocal duets backed by warm acoustic instruments including Hawaiian lap steel guitar, ukulele, guitar and bass, they explore traditional and classic tunes with a unique, romantic approach that is appealing to listeners of all ages.
The band members include Bliss Blood, vocalist and ukulele player; Cindy Ball, vocalist and guitarist, and Rus Wimbish on bass; and Raphael McGregor on steel guitar.
McGregor is on pictures of the Moonlighters playing
