An acquaintance of mine from up Ohio way, has a Jerry Byrd model, blond, 8 string, Birdseye Maple, stand-alone on 3 legs and a serial number of #7133.
Can anyone tell me the date of manufacture/sale or whatever? What value might YOU place on it. |

The Jerry Byrd model was square-ended and had the rattan (speaker covering?) on the front. Made from '57-'62, it was called the Model CW before it was renamed the "Jerry Byrd Model" in the early '60s. Value, in excellent condition, is around $600-$700 (in my considered, non-expert, opinion). |

Ray, If you want to see one in person there is one at Portland Music (MLK and SE Stark location), sitting up on their "collectables" shelf.
'Found this in Google images:

THANKS Mr. Burak.....
That's a great photo and your post is superb! What a great pix.
I have one of those guitars now! Mine is all dark walnut, like the early 1950's Fenders. Mine has a purple colored upholstery strip across the front. |
