Went to the Cowboy Symposium in Ruiodoso NM this last weekend. Actually went to see Doug Stone and was surprised to see Bobby Flores band with Randy Reinhard and 4 fiddles in the casino bar. What a time. Also After that was Brady Bowen band with the great Albert Tally playing steel. What a show. We were in Western Swing heaven. Great to see and talk to you Albert. Your playing is great. I wish I could play that C6th stuff like you. |

Yeah! It was quite a week-end. Randy Rheinhart, Albert Talley, Dickey Overby, Bobby Koefer and lots more. I had the opportunity to Work with Floyd Domino and the All Stars in the big tent. We did our thing (Western Swing) and had quest singers: Darrell McCall, Curtis Potter, Tony Booth and others. I took my non-pedal and pedal steel and traded back & forth. If you all ever get a chance to go to this venue Don't miss it. The Texas Playboys too. Next year they've hired Asleep at the Wheel for the Thursday night show. What a Blast. |

Must be something in the water out there in beautiful New Mexico drawing us steel players in. I played at the Spencer Theater to a full house just outside Ruidosa on Oct 3rd with the Dave Alexander big band. |

Reece, I didn't know you were there or we would have made it over. It's a beautiful theater. |

Envy is a terrible emotion to have... I know, 'cause I've got it bad! Congrats to all you great players! _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Albert tunes his back neck to Bb6. And yes, he is a master on it. I could sit forever and listen to him just noodle on it. And he ain't no slouch on E9 either... _________________ Johnny Thomasson |
