Do any of my fellow Brits know much about Vic? I remember him from my early learning days when he was with The Kursaal Flyers. There was a documentary of a 1976 tour shown on BBC2 way back when I couldn't get BBC2.

I remember Vic Collins playing at the British Steel Festivals in the early '90s. Vic stood out as he used to use distortion and play beautifully controlled versions of things like Hotel California.
I'll be talking to Gerry Hogan this coming weekend at the Irish Steel Festival (will you be there Archie? If not, why not ). I'll ask Gerry what's become of Vic. If memory serves, he was playing a double neck Sho-Bud back then. |

I think I had Vic's old S-10 ZB - or he had mine!!! I can't remember which way 'round it was now....
Red and birds-eye - a very pretty guitar.
I don't know where Vic is these days. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Archie, Vic used to do all Gerry's festivals with his own band.He always put on a great show(on his ShoBud) doing numbers you would not expect on steel.I believe his band worked out near the Southend Area.Have not heard of him lately since the end of Gerry's festivals. Will be in touch with you shortly to ask about pedals on Millenium, trying to sort mine out.Regards Malcolm |
