I regret that I won't be able to attend this show this year as this will be the first one I have ever missed. It happened to fall on the same weekend as the PSGA show in CT which I am doing and I really hate it as these shows usually don't fall on the same weekend. Of course, it looks like Al Vanderpool has a good lineup of players so this should prove to be a great show.

ahhh thank you Winston and shoe... actually, dad has been getting better by the day and I hoping that, although I will be out of town that weekend (or I would definitely try to get him there), maybe he will be able to come up to the show with Glenn Phillips!! Keeping my fingers crossed because I know he wants to be there if he feels up to it :) I will give Glenn a call to see if he will check again with Dad when the show is a little closer.. I really hope he can go because the show held by LMSGC this month was such a good day for him and seemed to really lift his spirits when he was feeling so bad..... He NEEDS to be around his pickin' buddies :)

As he is one of KY's own, and one of the best of the next generation of players, I was hoping Chris Castle would be on this show. I was going to drive up from Knoxville to see some new blood.

Hope to see him somewhere in the future.

Chris played in October on the Louisville Show and you're right... it's good to see someone so young playing the steel! And very well at that I might add :) I remember in the not so distant past.... oh well, almost 40 years ago lol, a young TOMMY WHITE kickin it up and turnin this town and all the towns around here on it's ear :)

Hey Mr. Al....thanks for the invite and I'm picking Bob Knight up in Bowling Green on the way...I figured that would be a good way to add some excitement to my drive up and back, not to mention the weekend itself. No, Bob has a way of keeping me in line and vise-versa.....truth be known, it may take Mr Milt to keep an eye on both of us.
Looking forward to a great time,
Russ

Chris - I won't be able to make it because I'm already committed on something else. I'm sure you'll be a big hit. There's some good pickers there. I played fiddle on the show about 10 years ago when Fred Layman was doing it. I don't remember who all was there except I remember Stu Basore. :)

What a week-end of good country music at the Lexington, central Ky Steel guitar show.
I dont know when we have been blessed with so many top notch pickers.
A new one for me was Rusty Rhodes on the most beautiful Jackson steel guitar. This young man takes no back seat to any one today Kayton Roberts,Russ Hicks,Ron Elliot, and as always the exellent picking of mister Bobby Seymore, just to name a few.
To mr Al Vanderpool, thank for all the time spent and hard work that went into this show.
I hate to do this but here i go----Thanks Winston for the excellent sounds That you gave us.
Looking forward to next year. Curt
