The newly formed Irish Steel Guitar Association is running its first Festival of Steel Guitar in Sept.2002 (Sat and Sun 7th+8th)
The venue will be held at the Europa Hotel Dublin Road, Drogheda, Co.Louth Ireland.
Confirmed Players so far=
Doug Jernigan (USA)
Sarah Jory (UK)
Gerry Hogan (UK)
Derek Thurlby (UK)
Players from Ireland include= Richard Nelson,Percy Robinson,Ivan McLernan,Aiden Cunningham.

According to Sarah's web site, she is playing at the Europa on the 7th and then at the N.I Steel Guitar Convention in Belfast on the 8th. Is this the same thing or are there two conventions? |

Clive, Sarah will be appearing at the ISGA Festival on both dates 7+8 Sept, which will be held in the Europa Hotel Drogheda.
You can be sure of that. Hope you can make it,and bring all your friends and family, it will be a Mighty Week-end of Music.

I would like to be there....I know I would be assured of a bed...probably in the back of the O'Keefes van.....but that would be OK....I would even work the door or sweep up afterwards!!!!!!.....I can sort of speak a little Irish.....I can probably drink as good as an Irishman....I can tell Irish Jokes no problem.....so come on guys!....how about sending me an air ticket and some drinking money and I will be on the next boat !!!!! |
