Just received my new GFI yesterday. Have been playing a 35 year old Emmons forever and I am really enjoying this tight little unit. However, I could use about 3/4 inch longer legs on the back. Does anyone know if someone makes longer threaded inserts for the legs?

Gracias

George: Call GFI, they will make you a set of longer legs for your guitar, they will give you the details on that. With there legs, there is no way to have an extension, since they are not made out of mic stands. GFI is a great company and takes care of there customers & I am sure Bob will take care of you!!

Thanks. I didn't see anything on their website, but I'll give them a call and see what they can do.

Just took a closer look. The insert is nothing more than a 5/8" X 2.5" set screw! Time for a trip to the fastener store.

What size are the threads that screw the legs into the guitar? Can someone tell me?

They are a 5/8 inch coarse thread. The stock inserts I received are 2 1/2 inches long. I am going to go get a couple of 5/8 X 4 ich set screws. If I can't find set screws, I'll buy bolts, cut them off and smooth the cut edge.

I needed mine longer, used a piece of PVC pipe cut he length needed and took off the rubber foot and put the pipe on, if someone uses my guitar and resets the higth, I just drop it back down on the pipe just right.
On the front legs I put it on the rubber foor and taped it, the pull rods are still the same length, works for me.
