I am in the middle of the Jerry Byrd Steel Guitar Course. I learned a Hawaiian song called " U Like No Like". Does anyone know what that means?

| My Heart's Choice - This is the translation per when I Google'd it. This is a standard Hawaiian classic song from the 30's written by a non-Hawaiian. I learned it back around 1940 when taking Hawaiian lessons. |

According to an album by the Royal Hawaiian Guitars,
entitled Hawaiian Golden Hits, the song to which you refer is listed as: "U A Like No A Like"/
Just tho't I'd toss this in to stir up a little controversy by way of another authoritorian source.
JERRY BYRD of course, plays on this LP. |

thanks for the replys. I also appreciate the "Hollywood Squares" answers from Bo and Jim.
I have always had a kind of " dry" sense of humor, but in todays world, with most people waiting to be offended, I sometimes get in trouble.Usually my attempts at this type of humor just goes over their heads.
I am reminded of my Maternal Grandfather, Morgan Green, from whom I must have inherited my humor. He was as dry as dust with his. A neighbor came over to our house once to use the phone. She came in,asked for the phone, a drink of water and then asked for the phone book. My Grandfather coldly asked, " Can I dial the number for you? "
I guess I have found a place here on the SGF where humor is appreciated and most people don't get all bent out of shape everytime someone says something funny that can be misunderstood.

YOU a LEEKAY NOAH LeeKAY.. with the "A" as in the "A" of Hat.
"YOU a" tied, like EWER (the vase)
NOAH (The Arkwright)
and Lee as Marvin and Kay as in Kay Costa.
