BJ Cole - Appalachian Spring

Post by b0b »

BJ Cole (steel) and Emily Burridge (cello) perform a dreamy arrangement of Copeland's Appalachian Spring.

Beautiful. And seems like the sound was lovely in that room. BJ Cole's playing here has, to my mind, a similar mood to the stuff he did on Harold Budd's BY THE DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT.

B.J. Cole is one of the main reasons I took up pedal steel.

Here's another one, although you can't really hear the steel very well (click here).

Imagine getting a call for this gig. For once, you wouldn't feel like you are playing the wierdest instrument on the stage.

I really like what he played on this Sting tune "Fill Er Up"... BTW, This song has James Taylor singing harmony...
