Can someone tell me a good lexicon or alesis rack mount (Not TOOO Expensive)that is good to hook up with a revelation or Tonic out of the effects loop? I have a mpx 100 & the parallel settings for dual effects leave a little to be desired. I have done searches but can't seem to satisfy my problem.

Thanks in advance

Jim

Jim,

the MPX-100 doesn't offer the full control of a dual parallel setup. It gets strange sounding if you try to alter the balance between the two effects because it begins to blend in some dry signal. That makes it virtually unusable in this type of fx loop.

I'm still a proponent of the very affordable and really nice sounding TC M300 or M350 for that setup.

The MPX-1 is a great sounding option, but clearly no easy task to fully program the routing properly and is fairly expensive.

The TC M-One is a nice unit too and easily allows for the proper routing/mixing.

Jim,

I recently spent a good amount of time experimenting with various effects units in conjunction with the REV. The TCM350 is the most inexpensive unit that had a good sound. It's great if you don't mind saving various settings as numbers rather than song names. A lot of people just program a couple of different sounds and use those for every song. If that's what you do, the M350 would work great. If you're looking for a few more options, the Lexicon MX400 is another good unit. If you're looking for a unit that gives you distortion and everything else in one box, the PodX3 isn't too bad for $400. I've heard the Axe FX box is ridiculously good, but it's about $1,500. The M350 is around $200, and does have a very good sound with the REV.

Thanks to all for replys. Using my mpx 100 as the Hughey setup I can't get my input into the lexicon low enough not to over drive it. Any suggestions.

JIM WITH THE HUGHEY SETUP YOU START WITH ALL VOLUMES OFF.START WITH FIRST VOLUME ON THE PREAMP THEN YOU MAKE SURE THE NEXT VOLUME IS HIGHER UNTIL YOU GET TO THE POWER AMP THEN SET IT TO FULL VOLUME
IF THATS TO HOT START BACK AT THE PREAMP TURNING DOWN, BUT SILL LEAVE THE POWER AMP UP

I have my Rev Pre with Pre set at 12:00 o'clock, GAIN set at 12:00 and the effects send to the M350 at about 12:00 as well and it sounds great. I don't see how you can beat it at 200.00.
