Well there are now two inspirations that somehow keep this touring going for me.
One is; I love to sit and play my steel with Dale Watson....Two; I want to give others a chance to see and hear this "Blue Darlin" Fulawka in person.
From the time I sit down to play, to the time I get up from playing; is the only time I like in touring....other than that....I don't care for "ANY" of it; it's just not my style.
But the addiction goes on I suppose......mainly cause I love my Guitar and Dale Watson......and don't hate the other as much as I love them >"YET"
Make since????.....well I hope it does for somebody....cause It don't to me
See ya'll out there.....

Ricky: I spent the second half of 7 years in Europe, playing gigs at military bases in France. During the days, if we stayed over rather than drive back to home base in Germany, I would drive around France looking for War Memorials from both of the big wars.
It made the time pass and also put some nice memories into my head. They are still some of my fondest memories even though I only had a sunburst Fender 1000 and not that beautiful Blue Darlin' of yours. Man I envy you but answer me a question, please.
Such a dedication to Jimmy Day is not heard of too often but your copedant is not the Day version. Any specific reason (s)? They used to say if Buddy got to your town first you played it that way and if Jimmy was the first one you saw, you used his set-up.....True ??
Best Regards, Paul |

I've heard that Dale may be more popular in Europe than he is here in the States.
Is Cagnes Sur Mer anywhere near Villefranche Sur Mer? (On the coast near Nice.)
If you guys make a swing through New York anytime, make sure you announce it here! |

yes Mark, Cagnes s/ Mer is next to Nice.
My good Buddy Eddy Ray's gonna be there
I'll try to make it over to Pau (Po)
that's in my neck of the woods.
How often does one get a chance to hear Steelers round here ? Quite Rare...
and w: a Blue Darlin' ?
Have a good trip over Ricky and enjoy Europa.
Lafayette nous voila !

Hey Mark I did announce New York on this thread....via....the tour schedule.
So we are coming through there in Aug. as well as many other east coast gigs....and there is Georgia and Alabama somewhere in there on that Nashville run.....so if folks want to come see us...they have to look to see when and where on the tour page cause it's ever changing.....and I can barley keep up with it....and that's how I find out where I'm gunna be.....ah...ha.
Marco...can't hardly wait pal.
Yes Dale is quite popular over seas.....as he has won many awards over there......cause he gets played on the radio.....so folks actually get to hear him.....but here in the States....that will "Never" happen....well never say never....but so far zilch......as we don't play country music as described in todays market by the majority.

Well, despite the bad timing(!) I made it out to EuroDisney... and it was a GREAT show! Even after coming the long way round (3 separate flights!) to arrive on Friday morning and play Friday evening, they played a straight two hours, and they were GOOD! and Ricky's New Blue Darlin' is just as pretty as its pictures! and he was getting the most out of it too!
I wend with a guitarist friend who's only gotten into country in the last couple of years after playing mainly jazz, and he was blown away by what the steel can do (in the right hands, of course ).
For a couple of hours there, it was just like being back in Texas!
I know most people on the Forum don't need telling, but if Dale and the band are in your area, DON'T MISS THEM!
