I'd appreciate hearing about your experience with Lamar guitars, both negative and positive. Thank you. Peter Goeden

I have never played one of Lamar's pedal steels but they are meticulously made works of art, in my view. I did own a custom-built keyless lapsteel he made for me years ago and which Howard M. now owns.

Like Jim, I've seen one...but never played one. The machine work was very good, reminding me somewhat of the BSG, or an older MSA. Everything was very robust and well finished.

I had a d-10 Lamar, They are a Work of Art, The Wood The Inlay, They are Built In Florida one at a Time By Lamar Colvin, Not Mass Produced Like Most Nowadays, They Play Great and Sound Great! Try One You will Like It ! Randy Gilliam. :D

I loved my little Lamar keyless .....The tone was great and it was a very small/compact steel and easy to fit on a stage ....I happen to think that Lamar Colvin makes probably one of the BEST cabinets in the business....You would be hard pressed to even noice a seam going from one wood to the next .... VERY classy work and he uses top quality wood !!.....The tone is wonderful, and when you're not playing , they're great steels to look at !!....Jim

I have a D-10 keyless. Great guitar, incredibly well built. They are one off custom steels and Lamar will make it exactly the way you want it.
