I've been wondering about this for a while now, and figure if anyone knows the answer, it'll be found here. On the cover of the Buddy Charleton album "Almost to Tulsa" from the former steel guitar record club, there is a picture taken from the right side. The guitar looks to be a wrap-around. However, in the rear section, there appears to be two rectangular cut-outs, and what looks to be the ends of the changer axle supports protruding through them. I have never seen this on any push-pull before or since. Anyone?

Hi James,

I've never seen that album as sold by the Steel Guitar Record Club, but Bear Family released a CD of that album in late 2008. I have the CD and what a great recording. I recommend it to all that like great instrumental records. Especially as it applies to C&W and Western Swing.

Anyway, on the CD cover is a photo of the Troubadours on a riser in what might be Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK. In that photo it's clear to see that Buddy Charleton is playing a Sho~Bud similar to the one he's playing in the YouTube vid with Leon Rhodes and him playing "Honey Fingers". The photo appears to be a "colorized" black and white photo and the steel body is a walnut color, but it's clearly a Sho~Bud. You can see the logo decal on the body.

Incidently, "Honey Fingers" is on the album. Very Happy

Keep on pickin'!
Glenn
