Mickey, just for fun you should review the tab in 'Anthology of Pedal Steel' by scotty . That song is tabbed completely and will open up a lot of new doors on what you are trying to teach. I learned this song years ago from that book and It's incredible what string grips/moves that were used. trust me, find that book and learn those moves....it is so cool!

Back when I was learning steel..(back when the dead sea, was still sick)..I had a copy of this book. London Derrier...LOL was the first song I ever learned...I agree, theres a lot of great large intervals in the arrangement. My dillemma here is getting through even fundamental parts in high quality video without running out of upload capacity. In this video I also made a reference to the LDG video for comping of Lloyd's style. So the primary purpose of this video is simply voicing and positions..And is aimed at beginners...I certainly appreciate your input though, and I agree thoroughly...Mick

Mickey, you got me going now. The day you posted that tune, I JUST had my new BenRom in playable condition. Guess what tune was swirling around in my head as I sat down at the steel for the first time? You guessed it. You had me running from the computer to the garage in a feeble attempt to capture a line off of youtube and running out to the steel and try to play it.
My memory is very short Rolling Eyes I ended up just trying to play bits of the tune my own way, with one passage or another of your clip still working in my head. It helped; I grasped some of it and with what I added, it actually sound ok to me(in an amateur sort of way)
Thanks again Mickey, for your huge contribution to all of us!
