Bobby Black and Paul Franklin-Strawberry Music Fest SEP 5

Post by Mylos Sonka »

My longtime pal, Don Burnham, bandleader of LOST WEEKEND Western Swing Band, has asked me to remind Forumites that LOST WEEKEND (12 pc Western Swing Band from California, featuring Bobby Black on steel) and THE TIME JUMPERS (11 pc Western Swing band from Gnashville, featuring Paul Franklin on steel) will BOTH be performing on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Strawberry Music Festival at Camp Mather, Yosemite, CA.
LOST WEEKEND 1:45 PM mainstage
TIME JUMPERS 7:45 PM mainstage
LOST WEEKEND will also host a late night dance at AMY'S ORCHID CAFE the same evening at the festival with TJ's and other special guests invited to sit in.
This is an historic double booking, and these shows promise to be the Western Swing event of the year with two of the genre's finest contemporary bands featured on the same day! Not to be missed!
Don says - "Be there, or be square"; he's undoubtedly right, so I am going!
I'll see you at Strawberry September 5. Come say hi.

This has got to be the scenario "I thought I died and was in heaven". Too bad that they couldn't have a battle of the Bands like in the old Western Swing days. Wish I could be there, hope someone records it. Bobby Black and I go back to the early 50's where we both played in the "Shorty Joe" band at Tracy Gardens in San Jose, Ca.

Man here I up and moved from Sonora and two awsome bands are going to be at Camp Mather. Always a treat to attend the Srawberry Festival.
