Hello, Im wondering if it is possible to convert my Goodrich H10k vol pedal from the 9volt battery, to a 9volt step down transformer, that runs off the mains, this would require a small hole drilled through the chasi and conecting the wire to the existing wires that run from the battery in the pedal, is there any pros's and con's in doiing nthis,, thank ya..

Anne,

I's sure it could be done without any big problem. I am not sure why you would do it... Those nine volt batteries last a LONG time in the H10K pedal. Just carry a spare battery and a screwdriver to do the install, and you should never have any problem that could not be fixed in 5 minutes.
I used a H10K for several years and only changed the battery a few times. It never failed during a gig. I now have a Hilton, which I like a lot, but have to carry the transformer, and an extra extension cord to power it up every gig, and be careful not to step on or pull on the extra wires.
What is the line voltage in New Zealand, 120 volts or something else?

Hi Larry The line voltage here in new zealand is 240 volts, I found that if i leavce the pedal plugged up to my guitar and amp, the battery died pretty quick, i do carry a spare but i just thought at 8bucks a shot for a new one , the transformer might be a good option. and really just wondering if anyone else has re power'd thier pedal, cheers,, ohh and its Des, not Anne. my wife and i have the same credit card and i picked her's up by mistake when i signed up here..lol

I've used those goodrich pedals for years. To extend the battery life, when you are not playing your guitar unplug all the cords that go into the pedal. when I do gigs, at the end of the night I would uplug all the cords, I never had a problem. The batteries last a long time as long as the cords are unplugged when you are not playing. I'm not talking about on breaks during a gig just unplug them if you are not going to play your guitar for a while

Hi Des, I played through one of these 10K pedals for years and it's not worth trying to power it up for what voltage it uses. just remember to unplug the pedal after a session !!!!! Very Happy ... You will remember after you drain a couple of batteries ha !

And yeah get B0B to change your login name ...your going to get Annie in trouble with some of your posts mate.
