I found a Pentab pickup rumbling thru some stuff yesterday that I remember came off an Emmons I had back in the late 80's. It had the five position switch on it I remember that I only used one position and it sounded good. Does anyone know how to wire the pickup for that position. It has four places for wires all on one end. Thanks---Henry

I like it ok Gary, but just that one position sounded good. I just need to know how it's hooked up without the five position switch. It looks like thiswith the O's the wiring points.

Henry, have you tried running the 'ground' and then using each 'tap wire' independantly until you find that sound, maybe 2 tap wires were used together.
I'm sure the options were quite enormous with 5 tap wires, i'd be tapping in if it were me ode chap!

Thanks Larry. I think after all the trouble of getting it wired, one set of the coils are open. It reads 18 on one side and 0 on the other , so I guess it needs rewinding.

Hi Henry,
Jerry Wallace does a great job in rewinding pickups. I had him rewind an old set of Emmons dual coil pickups. One of my pickups had a dead side. Jerry rewound them as single coils and they sound great. He does good work. |
