Does anyone know anything about these? A friend recommended one. Follow up: What is the minimum wattage needed for enough clean headroom for PSG?

Adam,If you're looking for a clean steel guitar sound I don't think this is the amp.I've played guitar out one these at a blues gig and it's breaks up great for a blues thing I just don't think it would the right amp for a cleaner sound ,It also depends on how loud you're gonna be playing...However it's a great sounding amp.

Clean headroom? What's that? If the amp grinds, it's good enough for me. I played my Sho-Bud through a Peavey Delta Blues and I found that it had a pretty good distortion. :mrgreen:

Loud enough for club gigs?

I have one, and it's pretty good for playing blues-rock pedal steel in small venues. But it just does not have enough clean headroom for country, or country-rock, or even for slow R&B numbers where you want a lot of clean sustain. Even if it is miked, it has trouble with loud stage volume. Also, it is a very bright sounding amp for PSG. It is a 30 watt guitar amp, and only works for PSG in very small, quiet settings.

Thirty watts is not quite enough power for club gigs. I suggest the Nashville 112(80 watts) or the Nashville 1000 or N'Ville 400, which should be plentiful.

DeWitt Scott at Scotty's Music in Overland, Missouri still has two or three new Nashville 1000's in stock. Check with him here;
