I recieved an e-mail letter from Roland, and they have come out with a new stomp box reverb pedal that's supposed to be a 1963 Fender Reverb.Anyone else seen this news yet. I'd like to hear what it would sound like with steel guitar.

Kenny...he's some player too isn't he? Smile I too have only ever used Boss pedals. Currently for steel I use an RV-3 (I also got a spare I saw for sale), and a RT-20 Leslie simulater, when a song calls for it Winking Shame they stopped making the RV-3 ..it's an amazing pedal...those who aren't sure, it's a delay/reverb pedal (all in one)

Yes,Steve is a great picker. Cool I sold, and traded the RV-3's that I had,and got the RV-5. I like it a little better. I can run a DD-3 before the 5 for delay, but the RV-3 is a great too. Do you like the Rotory Ensemble? I thought of maybe getting one. Very Happy

Kenny, the RT-20 Lesie Simulator is brilliant once you get the setting's right, and the ramp speed from slow to fast. I did have a Korg toneworks G4 which was also good but it did somehow "slightly" alter your dry signal from the steel. The Boss doesn't do that, and the visual swirling display on the pedal is pretty unique Smile I find it best to just set it on the normal Leslie settings, and not any overdrive. There seems enough there when you switch the unit on. Your gain settings weather dry or with some blend will depend on the individual. As with all units of this kind use it sparingly which I guess you know anyway. I vamp on it (lower strings) on the rocky tunes behind the lead guitarist, just to fill out the overall sound but not over power his playing. It "IS" a very good unit.

From the reviews I have seen, the RT-20 is a way much better unit than the Line-6 Rotomachine. Very Happy

The RT 20 is a nice unit. Not only do you get parameters for rotary...separate rise-fall times for horn and rotor, speeds...fast, slow, you can also switch between them and I believe you can even have a brake with a separate footswitch. The Leslie rotating speaker sim thing 'ya know, but that's only one aspect of effective organ simulators.

I'm particularly impressed by the authentic organ sounds. Very realistic and when combined with the rotating speaker sims, makes for a very believable effect.

Some tweaking and programming is in order, but will be worth the trouble.

A friend of mine has one of these. I have the same circuits and settings in a Boss SX700 rack mount unit. Good Stuff.

Hi Kenny and Jerry....for a very short while I had a Line 6 rotomachine. I could not get the right volume when turning the effect on plus the fact you had to press the pedal quite hard to turn the effect on from by/pass, which is quite annoying. To add to this the entire unit died on me after just a few weeks use. I just couldn't be bothered to have it repaired, and was really lucky with my purchase of the Boss RT-20. I got it off ebay, good as new, instructional manual, boxed up etc and does exactly what it's supposed to do with ease, with the Boss reliability behind it Smile You can "brake" by pressing both of the pedals together at the same time, the two pedals are side by side...it's like a twin unit.
