That is an idea I have been kicking around myself. Jody Sanders and Billy and Patty Phelps have a very good jam session on the first Sunday of most months. They have sometimes 10-12 players attend and some really great featured players like Ricky Davis playing with Miss Leslie and her group. Rodger Edgington playing with Billy Mata and the entire band. This coming month Randy Boyd, The Victoria Flash, will be the featured player, and Jody Cameron has also wowed us all with his playing and a short instruction, and then Billy phelps...quite a great talent. Jody Sanders and his great style and emcee talents..and Dr. Bowman shows up at times. They have quite a group and then they have even allowed me to embarrass myself once.
Let me know some particulars on when and where and lets get something going in this area. I don't want to conflict with Jody and Billys date because some of the players will want to go to their club on the first Sunday of the month...One other thought is that the atmosphere is family oriented. ...jr

I have considered trying to place it between Austin and San Antonio and am open to all suggestions.
I get to San Antonio semi-regularly and also Branson Mo.
It struck me as odd that a small area like Branson has such a Fun and Interesting gathering and an area such as Austin and S.A. has none.
There are many Benefits and Pros involved with getting together not to mention Fun Jams.
The meeting will be on the 2nd Sunday of each month in South West Austin off 290.
The facility we will be using is a good sized indoor room that opens up with 3 garage doors to a nice outdoor, green grass picnic area, full sized indoor stage, P.A. lots of tables set up.
Lets get together for some good times and just do some thing good.
Please contact me at metcalf.ken@gmail.com
Thanks Joe and Clete I will be in touch for your input.

I would like to attend one of your jam sessions either as entertainment or as a spectator.

I have performed at Bill Stafford's Deep South Steel Guitar Convention's numerous times as well as Billy Carr's Mississippi Steel Players. I have just arrived from Scotty's convention and very interested in getting to meet my new picker family here in Texas. Orginally from Mississippi.

Please let me know if it will be possible for me to attend your Jam Session in October.

Thanks Country Couzin,
Miss Mini Minnie Pearl
