BIAB To Real Band
Why when I open BIAB songs in Real Band...
The timing seems to get scrambled along with the instrument choice
I have tried snapping it and would appreciate any help on this.
Thanks

Ken,
I have not had this problem. If it happens on all biab formats .mgu .sgu .mgx then it must be a settings issue. It could be the file itself or the style,if it only happens occasionaly.
I'd call PG tech support they can usually resolved problems fairly quickly.

I might be a beginner now, but someday I'm gonna steel the show.

Re: BIAB To Real Band
Most likely different "Preferences Settings" between the two applications. They are separate programs and one does not "duplicate" the others optional settings. Many are the same but not all.Ken Metcalf wrote:Why when I open BIAB songs in Real Band...

Here are my suggestions. In RB go to menu items OPTIONS then PREFERENCES then MIDI DEVICES.
Check that you are using the same Output Drivers in both. If you are routing to a DXi or VSTi make sure that the check box for that option is checked.
Check that the latency settings in this same area are the same as in BIAB.
Next go to the AUDIO preferences and make sure these settings are the same in both.
Let me know if that helps . good luck.

I have part of it fixed but if I type in G...BD in order to make the piano hold in BIAB and still let the drums and bass continue. When it comes up in RB the BD part is gone and all I have is G... which holds everything and I can't input BD into the G...BD measure, all it will take and come out with is G... even tho I type in G...BD
Thanks
Kenny
Thanks

I've never tried this and not at my home computer so I'll see what I get tonight.Ken Metcalf wrote:I have part of it fixed but if I type in G...BD in order to make the piano hold in BIAB and still let the drums and bass continue. By any chance are the bass and drums Real Tracks. That might have a negative responce.
Also, the examples in the help files use a lower case letter NOT a CAPITAL LETTER. Don't know if that would make a difference.
Let me know - hope I remember tonight to check.

OK . . . the answer is that instruments after a chord must be lower letters (NO CAPITAL LETTERS)!
To demonstrate this go to Real Band and try G...PB. It won't print the P or B.
Next in Real Bank type G...pb and you should get what you want. So in BIAB make sure that all or instrument holds are lower letters.

In biab no matter how I type it the first letter is a cap. and the end letters are lower case, but I still can't get the last letters in RB only biab.
I am thinking the real drums are the problem, I don't use them in all my songs but when I open biab files in RB it seems to force all songs to real drums.
I guess they are just too real to actually work right HA!

Well, this gets back to the "Preferences settings" in BOTH products.Ken Metcalf wrote:In biab no matter how I type it the first letter is a cap. and the end letters are lower case, but I still can't get the last letters in RB only biab.

In BIAB go to menu items OPT. then Preferences then Real Drums Button. Here you will see two check boxes that need to be "unchecked" to stop BIAB from defaulting to Real Drums.
The first says "Substitute Real Drums for MIDI Drums". Uncheck it.
The Second says "If Real Drums style not found, use other RD style". Uncheck it.
You want BOTH of these unchecked to force MIDI drums.
THEN
In Real Band go to menu OPTIONS then Preferences and uncheck the "Allow Real Drums".
So now BIAB is using MIDI Drums and RB is using MIDI Drums. Hope that helps.
I have typed G . . . bp in BIAB saved the file and then Opened the file in RB. If opens with the G . . . bp just fine. Are you saving the BIAB file. And THEN Opening the BIAB file with RB? Or ar you trying to do some type of Copy/Paste? What does the term "snapping" in your first post imply?
