The volume switch in my hot spot monitor broke the other night. Can I just go to radio shack or other place and solder in any type of volume control pot or do you think I need a special type volume control. Thanks

Probably a 250 or 500k either taper (log or audio is preferable but not necessary as linear would suffice)- the physical characteristics are important as well such as diameter and length of shaft. Glad to help out if Radio Shack lets you down.

John all 4 of our hotspots broke! There is a problem with the resistor on the pad. The manufacturer sent us 4 new pots with attached resistors. Maybe you can do the same, assuming the problem is the same. Good luck! JP
