Hi, I am coming this year, I have booked the 3 day advance tickets just this morning. I am thinking about flying to Chicago landing on Thursday 3rd at 12.50. I was thinking about hiring a car and driving to St louis? Whats the drive like? Anybody know? I was doing this rather than taking the short flight to St louis because I have a second week in the USA after the show. I was thinking about visiting Memphis, and Nashville in the second week, I beleive they're all not too far apart from each other. Billy Yates said if I give him a call, he will get me in the opry, Is there a Station Inn show on Monday 7th Sept? Any suggestions for places to visit?

More like five and a half or six
hours minimum just on the road -
You're talkin' like three-hundred
miles (480 km), plus however bad
rush hour is by the time he gets
through customs and
out of the airport.

David, I would definately fly the 2nd leg to St Louis. Nothing but road to see between Chicago and St Louis.
Besides you need to be at the ISGC on Thursday night for the Hall of Fame Show. Great music.
Why heck, if you are nice to me, I will let you sit in the 2nd best seat in the house. Right beside me in the sound booth.
Glad you are coming. Looking forward to meeting you in person.

It's not my show, but I'm entitled to my opinion. I think they should pay David Hartley to come to St. Louis, and be a featured player on the show. |

David Hartley would really be a refreshing change he plays so beautiful and with ease . I think they should pay him to play in st louis . I know of no one who plays better than David. I'm sure David has a large fan base that would love to see and hear him in st louis .
just my opinion. _________________ http://molly-cohran.virtual-memorials.com/

IDOT is the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Their website shows where highway repair and/or
maintenance may be taking place, which may slow
your drive a bit. Your Chicago-to-St Louis drive
will consist 99% of limited-access interstate
highway driving, and if there is any work along your
drive, it will generally consist of one of your two
lanes being closed, meaning traffic slows down a bit.
Really nothing to get unduly concerned about.

David..Food for thought. As the parking at the Millennium is expensive I would get a round trip ticket on the Trans Express Shuttle at the airport to the Millennium. The cost is about $28.00 or so round trip. The cost of parking would be around $100.00! The car might just sit in the parking lot not being used. Scotty |

David, Scotty is correct except that the cost (round trip) is $25. That's what I'll be doing, again this year. They used to offer a $1.00 rebate coupon (from their website) for return trips but this is apparently not available now. Jim H. |
