So, every year I usualy have a little birthday party, but this year I decided to do something a little more music oriented. I have a venue lined up, its a pizzeria in concord called "christophers." They make great pizza, and have an excellent selection of beer. I would bring my PA (which is alright, 2x15 800watts), if anyone else wants to bring their's, that would rock as well. we can go till 2AM, and have a blast. This will be in conjunction with the TDPRI, The SteelGuitarForum, The Gear Page, and various friends. Who's in?

Date: Sat, July 18th, 2009
Time: Setup starts at 5pm, we go till close
Location: Christopher's Pizzeria- 3624 Willow Pass Road, Concord CA, 94520
You bring: Amp (if you want), guitars, basses, mics...a good attitude.

Sounds like a fun party. It's a long drive from the southern tip of Texas to Concord, CA, though!

What's TDPRI stand for?

Yup, maybe he'll mosey on down. Literally a 5-10 minute walk.

Ted, I'd love to come out and join in the festivities if that's OK.

There will also be a raffle to benefit the american pit bull rescue group BADRAP ( www.badrap.org ). My girlfriend and I are big supporters of theirs, and have adopted from them. this group was featured in a cover story in Sports Illustrated for their efforts in saving many of the Vick dogs.

To be raffled:

So far we have A's tickets and Giants tickets confirmed, and much, much, more. Should be a great chance to win some cool stuff and help a great cause!

I may come and listen (and of course indulge in the pizza and beer). Jams that allow other instruments to take part sounds like a blast, but hard to keep control of. I think a better approach would be to have a back up band to play behind the steelers and not a bunch of other musicians having to take the time to set up, (hopefully) tune-up, tear down, etc. But if an all out jam is what you are after, then you've set the stage well and should have a good jam.

well, it is going to be pretty loosey goosey. we can do a jam to highlight the steelers, a jam for the rockers, a jam for the blues guys. there are going to be people from all walks of music, so it should be really fun. Ear plugs will be provided as well. 8)
