My Dell will no longer play DVD's. It won't play in the Media Center software from Dell and if I use Windows Medai Player, the media player encounters a problem and shuts down. The drive works as I can use CD's in it with no problem. I downloaded the trial copy of Nero, and it will play the DVD, but not from beginning to end. It plays the opening chapter over and over, then you have to select the next chapter. So, I can assume the drive itself is good and I am just having software problems. Efforts to "fix" both the softwares have met with no success. Nero doesn't seem to be the answer either.

Does anyone have any other software suggestions?

I am running XP Media Center.

There may be more problems than what you see since two applications are failing.

However, it may be a missing Codec, too. Download the free K Lite Codec Pack and install that and see if that helps.
