I'll be playing at the American Legion in Portland, TN tonight with the Meadowbrook Boys. This is a Elvis/Jerry Lee/Ronnie McDowell type of band. I really prefer more of the traditional country atmosphere but it pays good. We play tonight from 8pm till 1am. Thank you Abraham Stoklasa for subbing for me tonight at the Adams Jamboree Squaredance. NR

Still at the Yakima Eagles, this gig has been very good to us! Playing with the 5-piece band "Straight Shot" that I've been with for over 2 1/2 years. Mainly Country/Country Rock. Dave

I'll be playing a dance in Shawville, Que., my last gig before fleeing to Texas.
I haven't noticed anyone mention St. Patrick's Day... is that not a big thing down there, guys ? This area is bulging with crazy St. Pat's celebrations today (although St. Pat's is actually Sunday).
The nearby Douglas Tavern is notorious for it's celebrations.. it's known as the Wildest Spot In Canada this week.
I haven't got a drop of Irish blood in me, but neither do most of the participants.

We did a day party from 10 AM to 4 PM to celebrate St. Patricks day one day early. Now I'm home and raising me appetite for some good corn beef and cabbage. Aye, and maybe some floating the shamrock as well.

We had our St.Patrick's Day Dance Friday night, at Peggy's Dance Hall, where I play every Friday night, just out of Kingsport and Bristol,TN on Hi-Way 11-W. Was glad to see my buddy Robert Crigger, who came by for a visit. We have a 6 piece band and play lot's of Merle and George, Lefty, Hank, and Mel Street.
If you are ever in this area on Friday, come by and say hello.

I play at Joe's in Jackson, MS on the weekends. The usual bunch of loud red necks and their over weight wives who are mostly in need of some dental work.
But it beats a sharp stick in the eye...

Just got home form the Rose Bowl gig in Urbana, pretty good crowd untill two women got in a fight, one went ot jail!! I missed the whold thing because I was in the middle of my "extended jam" type solo..I looked up and the place was half empty!
So you see Ricky, Redd is right about this town!
We are gonna come down Texas way sometime soon and check things out!
Nick - it was real good to meet you too last Saturday, what a night!!
