Would great as usual be Ricky or Miss Leslie? I think she is tops. Her singng and her looks are just too much. Ricky is darn good too and one of my favorite players.

For sure Jody. That new album of theirs is killer. I haven't heard anybody sing with that much feeling and conviction in ages. Ricky's playing is really super too it is straight ahead country steel. You can tell Ricky's influences.

Well, it's nice to know a guy's loved around here. Mr. Green

Yeah, but in Sacramento, it was 98.5lbs. Must have been the elevation. Winking

BTW,

It was pure pleasure to play with Ricky. He's a great player and a class act. I thought his sound was great. The hall that hosts the opry has awful acoustics, so we all do what we can to compensate for the room.

Mr. Spikey,
Will you be joining us also next month? I can't think of a better idea than having two steels on the show. One is great, but two is better!

I watched the video. Good steelin'! Never heard that tune before, but it's got a nice 'swing' to it. And the steel sounded wonderfully bright and... well, Ricky knows what I mean.

...i'm partial to their 'honky-tonk revival' album...it has an edgier sound and i especially like the addition of the piano...

Bill Holt; It was Wonderful pickin' with you my brother; you are an awesome Bass player(very musical), and yes the acoustics aren't the best in that room; but all ya'll did wonderful. Not sure if I'm coming with Leslie or not....but certainly would love to.

Thanks for the props. I bet if you showed up with your steel, you'd be playing. Craig is like me - you can never get enough steel. If one is good, two is better, and I agree with him on that. Maybe we could get Randy up there and have three steels. Would that qualify as a regional steel show? LOL

You know, all the jams that steel players have (I always hear about the one in Katy)... I think it's indicative of the SG player's mentality. I never hear about guitar or fiddle jams like that. Steel players seem to get along that way, sans ego. Everyone takes a turn and gets support whether they are a pro or a complete novice. It occurred to me that one reason steelers are great with each other because they all understand how difficult it is to play the instrument. Not to mention the love for the instrument and its sound. The times I've tried learning, I was humbled. Kudos to you guys and gals for doing it. I'll just stick to my one little note at a time. Mr. Green

Yes indeed Bill; I'm all about a "Wall of Steels"....no worries....we'll see what my schedule is as that time comes.
You hit the nail on the head; there is nothing out there like the steel guitar community....it's such a great brother/sister-hood....and it is a shame every instrumentation can't have that.

Just wanted to bump you and let you know we missed you on the show. I understand you had a project, and I know how important that can be. Leslie worked her little tush off and did a great job. She didn't wear that nice black skirt like she did in Houston. But she did promise to come back. LOL
