you know, you can go to your local sign shop and buy ALL kinds of cool vinyl - metallic, shade shifter, reflectant, prismatic, etc - the kind of stuff they cut decals out of for cars. the good thing about that is that if you change your mind, you just peel the vinyl off. plus, its a flat surface so it will be easy to apply.
they will have color charts for you to pick from just like a paint store. _________________ '65 Sho-Bud D-10 Permanent • '54 Fender Dual-8 • Clinesmith T-8 • '38 Ric Bakelite • '92 Emmons D-10 Legrande II |

Didn't Jeff Newman used to use sticky vinyl to change the look of his guitars?
Couldn't you incorporate the dirty socks in the finished job somehow? _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

I have a small sign business and I have wondered myself if my vinyl would cover another color. The premium vinyl is thinner than the cheaper stuff. I might try to cover the top of my Derby and see if it will not let the light top color show through. If it works I could have different guitar every gig! _________________ Derby SD-10 4&5 Black!(duh)/

Clinton,
You need to get rid of those white socks (I use the term white loosely) and get some black socks.
You get better tone with black socks!!!
Everyone knows that. HaHaHa!!!
