yesterday morning when I opened up the forum I had to log in. I have always checked "keep me logged in". Now every time I go to forum I have to log in again. I am using a Toshiba laptop and have not had this problem before. I run Vista home premium. Thanks for any help.

Please check your browser's options setting and make sure you are allowing cookies to be saved. If you are blocking cookies by principal, please add ours to the exceptions list. If you are running a cleanup program, like Crap Cleaner, uncheck (delete option) Cookies from IE and Firefox browsers. Ditto for any other program you are using that cleans "tracks." _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

... or, if you use the AOL browser, you're just outta luck. |
AOL allows its users to use other browsers to surf the web, once you have logged into the service. So, if you are an AOL customer you can download Firefox and use it, or just open Internet Explorer and use it, to browse websites.
Forums use cookies to store login credentials. Some browser settings cause cookies to be deleted after a session has ended (the page is closed), or the browser is closed. Many security programs offer tracks removal for privacy protection and cookies are deleted when your tracks are sanitized. Then there's the Cookie Monster... _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

Wiz I checked my settings in IE and Firefox they both are set to accept cookies I double checked Firefox and it is on the Allow list. It just started this a few days ago. Same on both IE and FF. The only change I have made in the last few months is updated Vista premium to sp2 and have had no problem with it. _________________ I want to die from exhaustion not boredom. |
