Scotty opened the show at 11 am doing his usual fine job with that fry pan ! He not only plays great but I don't think anyone enjoys it more than him. Mary tells me he still will stay up very very late attending to the matters of the steel world and picking and listening. I have fond memories of watching him play pedal steel and my wife playing rythm and singing the latest Loretta Lynn and Connie Smith songs in his small basement shop back in 1969.
He also MC'd the show with his usual "off the cuff" style that is informitive and entertaining.
Buck Grantham came on and did one with Scotty and continued on his own to entertain in grand style. I always love to hear his Cajun rendition as well as other unique style tunes. Without a doubt, Buck wins "Best Dressed Performer" award. He always looks sharp and performs to match it.
Next was "The Legend in his own time" Mr Ralph Mooney. Ralph was playing a red GFI with matching pack seat and as always held everyone in awe. I've always wondered about pulling that single string on the Rainy Day Woman run when you already had A & B down---
well yesterday I caught that right foot leaving the volume pedal so smoothly you'd hardly notice it !! He bought some friends with him including Fred Jack of coarse and I'll let him tell about them here. There was a great lead man from Tulsa and Fred and Larry did some fine vocals in the set also.
I'll mention the next performer and stop for tonight.
You run out of adjectives when taking about the line up that was there . Wow !!!
What can be said about Herby Wallace that about everyone don't already know. When you put him on stage with a group like he had backing him, he absolutely amazes me !! He loves country music but he also plays other styles and the clarity and speed he displays is so unique and attention grabbing. I might mention that the great Milton Quackenbush from The Baldknobbers was on hand and set in on the keyboard with several of the performers. He is a fine steel player in his own right but what he does to a keyboard is breath taking.
Five more performers to talk about as well as some folks I visited with that you'll find interesting. Any comments or questions as we go are welcome. More later---

HeyFolks!!! We had a fun time up in Branson. The music was good and the fellowship was great. Tom and Rolene Brumley were just great to us. We couldn't have been better treated. Makes you want to stay up there. I really appreciate the way they treat us. Can't wait to go back.
