Hi Guys, anybody out there know how many 'left handed' LDG's Sho-Bud made in the 1970's I have one in the UK and I need to get some sort of idea of what it might be worth. Cheers.

SGF member Paul Papanek here in SoCal has one (or did as of 3 or 4 years ago...). He might be able to help.

I do still have mine! Duane Marrs told me that Sho Bud only built about 3 or 4 lefty LDGs so they are rare indeed.

By the way, mine's a '76 with the gumby headstock and wide pedals. Jan's seems to be a bit later than that. And mine doesn't have what I assume is a tone control on the endplate.

I bumped into a gentleman here in Oklahoma that has a first year '73 LDG lefty. I do not know any other details, but Shot took his order and produced the guitar for him.

I just spoke to Ron Mawn who worked in ShoBud London for a long time. Ron tells me that he saw 6 of these to his knowledge. Perhaps Ron might jump in here and enlighten us.

Ron could well have been one of the guys that were running the shop when i first ordered the steel. It was John Edmed and another guy which could well have been Ron. I remembered when John said that it would be possible to get a Left Hander he was going over to Nashville to order a guitar for himself, Steve Howe of the band 'YES ' and my Left Handed LDG. If this rings any bells with Ron, That would be great, Small world, look forward to hearing from you.

Jan, Yes i was the other guy with J E and if my memory is correct you came from the Chersey area in Surrey.John ordered your guitar as you say when he ordered his Custom Super Pro, and Steve Howe's Pro 11 in Green was in the store for a service.
Yours was one of six l/h LDG's that came through the store in the late 70's-80's. I remember one being in blue for a customer.
