I'm using Windows Media Player for Vista Home, and I just saved a music CD as MP3 files, using the Rip funcition. However, I also wanted to save as WAV files to burn to a backup CD. So, I inserted the disc again, but it was ejected back to me. I didn't even select to Rip it or anything...I just stuck the disc in, and as soon as the system recognized it, it kicked it back out. I cant' even use the disc drive as a CD player, and listen to a music CD that it has previously seen.

I primarily used Real Player on my old system (XP Pro), which I was happy with. But I'm wondering if this is a Vista thing, since I could re-insert discs and use them in WMP on my old machine just fine. Or perhaps I need to adjust a setting? I haven't downloaded Real Player yet...I was hoping WMP could do the job on this system all by itself.

Anyone have this problem? Question

I may have figured this one out. I went to Rip>More Options>Rip Music, and de-selected the boxes to "Rip CD when inserted" and "Eject CD when ripping is complete." It seems to work okay now. Smile

We have a saying: "Computers do what you tell them to do, not what you want them to do." Winking
