On May 12, 2009, Adobe released patches for it's PDF Reader and Acrobat encoder programs. The new version is 9.1.1. If you have any other version you are at risk from an exploit that is in the wild. Use the built-in Help menu > Check for updates link to obtain the patch.

If, perchance, you insist on running Adobe Reader version 8.x, it too has been updated to patch the JavaScript vulnerabilities. The new version for that series is now 8.1.5.
