There is a thread in Steel Players discussing The steel player ( Jack Ivens ) playing with Ray Price. In that discussion there are videos with Van Howard, and Roger Miller singing harmony, as well as mention of Pete Wade, and his work has appearaed in other threads. Is there a cronology associated with the appearance of these men, or is just who was available for the shoot. I have the original album these songs were cut on, but I never knew who sang the harmony. I don't know if I have ever seen a complete list of Ray's harmony singers. You'd have to wade through the session details of the Bear Family box to get a good idea, and that only covers through 1966 as I recall.
Van Howard is the earliest as far as I know, dating back to 1955, give or take a year.
Then maybe Roger on a few things? Not sure when he and Ray hooked up--1958?
I think you have to add Darrell McCall and Johnny Paycheck to your list, maybe circa 1959-60. Then Charlie Harris? |

Mitch pretty much nailed it. After 1960 or so, Ray overdubbed most of the harmony parts himself. |

Ray Sanders who had a few records himself did some harmony work with Mr. Price. db |
