The house pedal steel player on the Saturday night live stream Opry shows is flawless. _________________ 1939 Oahu Tonemaster, 1957 Rickenbacker, Melbert 8, and a cheap Rogue. |

Tommy White? If you're talking about the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He is their staff player. Some artists use their own player though. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . T. W. can make a pedal steel do anything he wants it to do. _________________ John Drury

When Tommy plays, take notes. He’s giving you a lesson on how to play. |

That's the one. After re-reading mine it looks like I meant SNL haha.
I've seen him for a few weeks since the live streams started then realized he's the main man.
Last night he was on fire. _________________ 1939 Oahu Tonemaster, 1957 Rickenbacker, Melbert 8, and a cheap Rogue. |

The year after I started playing steel, I went to the Opry, where I met Tommy. He's a great player, and in that same year, Tommy had played steel on a song recorded by country artist John Michael Montgomery called "The Little Girl", and Tommy had played on many of the songs on John Michael Montgomery's "Brand New Me" record, which was released in 2000, and features the song. Tommy is a great steel guitarist, and also plays dobro really well, too! |

John,
Those interviews are so cool! Thanks for sharing! I met P.F. Jr. at his folks house one time, while picking up a Franklin for Bobbe Seymour, really cool guy!
Got to know Tommy through the NTSGA and from his visits to SGN when I worked there, never met a more humble, gracious, self effacing guy!
He always made time to talk to ametuers like me about the instrument and answer any questions I had about steel guitars. Not a lot of guys at his station will bother to do that! Good times! _________________ John Drury
