DSSG will have its summer show on June 20, 2009 at the St. Martin Community Center, Ocean Springs exit 50 off I-10. Players list is being confirmed. Players already on the list are Herby Wallace, Hank Corwin, Joe Wright, Clyde Bloodworth, Royce Tarver, Jack Goodson, Billy Carr, Jim Parker, R.J Buras, Bert Courrege, Bill Stafford, Ivan Reddington and others to be added. Bob Saxton and Woody Ledford will share guitar duties all afternoon.
Romeo Sullivan, DJ Hall of Fame will honor us with his MC talents and give us a special program honoring the music of Jim Reeves. Romeo will have his pick of steel players to play this program. Fun show in the makings here.
R.J. Buras will host the kitchen duties with his famous cooking crew. Hanburgers, hot dogs and his famous seafood gumbo during the afternoon and a special catfish dinner for the evening meal.
More details as they develop.
Directions to the Community center are: South at the I-10 Ocean Springs exit. Turn right at the second red light, Lemoyne Blvd. The building will be on the right about a mile and a half. Plenty of parking in the west parking lot. Will publish motel info later this week. Plenty nice places close by.
Have room for additional talents so let me know.

Jack, it was great seeing and hearing and Martha in Opp this past Saturday. That Sierra you played sounded so good. Excited to have you and Marha on stage again here on the MIssissippi coast.
Just got off the phone with Hank (Cannon) Corwin. He informed me that Ronnie Miley will be on stage with him for a set. And I will schedule our program to allow Ronnie and Hank to each have a set of their own. These guys play so well together and I want to showcase their individual talents also.
The Mississippi CoastJazz Society will have a representative showing of their talents on stage and the really, really Dixie Land and big band sounds will abound during the afternoon when one of our guest steel players join this party. Clyde Bloodworth will give us lots of Chalker memories. Gordon Dodson brings Julian Tharpe memories with him. Hopefully, Gordon will also bring his eleven year old (??) niece-Jean Kendall Dodson to really enlighten us all with her steel playing. (She received one of the two standing ovations at our last show in Feb.) More to come, so stay tuned.

Herby, it is our special honor to have you in house. All are looking forward to you being here, especially me.
Ronnie, you are one of the very few who can keep up with Hank and another great honor for you to be here with us. Did Scotty get in touch with you about the EXCELS. Hope so.
OUr players list for our show on 20 June is really growing. Lots of trememdous interest and the St. Martin Community Center is one of the very best places to hold this event.

I'll be there early and plan on staying late. Lots of fun and great friendship and music, as well. Any time slot is fine, Bill. Doesn't matter. I'll plan on doing a steel set without much vocals this time around.

Thanks to all for this wonderful support. Just had a phone call from Dr. Bob Strum. He will be down from South Carolina. Bob is a really fine player and we all will enjoy his return to the Deep South. Things are looking better every day.

Getting better all the time. Wish you could be here John Floyd.
Just been informed that Rob Parker is getting his ducks in a row to be here also. This time we will not only get to hear him sing all during the "afternoon delight" show - he will be scheduled to delight us with his steel guitar. Without a doubt, Rob Parker is on all the big stages more than anyone else. Such a pleasure to have him here with us.
St. Martin Community Center, 15004 , Biloxi, 39532.
My cell phone will be on in case you need directions -228 669 0842. I-10 exit 50. south to second red light then right on Lemoyne Blvd. Center is on the right just over a mile.

Bill,
I really intended to make the show, but as luck would have it, we'll be down in Tampa, Fl. that weekend visiting our son on Father's Day. Looks like a "super" show and we sure wish we could have been there to see and maybe even work with some of these great players.
Hopefully we'll be able to make the next one. Bill and Betty are two of the finest host's and show producers in the south. Barbara and I would like to urge everyone reading this post to make and effort to go to the show and support Bill and the DSSG. Bill works tirelessly to put on a great show for you.(I think it's a "labor of love")
Best Wishes,
...Roy and Barbara

Hey friends,
I've been threatening to make it down to Mr. Bill's show for some time, and I just might might make it this year. The date just happens to fall between my wife's birthday and our anniversary, so a long weekend vacation to the beach just might work out.
I know the music will be great, my wife loves the beaches, and I want to try some of Mr. Buras' famous cooking. Sounds like a "can't miss" weekend in Mississippi.
See ya soon,
Jim

Hey Jim,
This is one of the best shows going. You will certainly enjoy it. Mr Smooth puts on a great show and the hospitality is great. Food is also outstanding too.
Always a great lineup and great musicians.

Hey Doc,
I've heard lots of good things about Mr Bill's show, and I remember how well he plays from the times he made it to Saluda. I'm looking forward to seeing alot of my Alabama buddies and making a few new Mississippi friends. Sure glad to see Mr. Clyde is gonna be there, he's one of my very favorites (player and friend).
Hal, I sure hope you can make it, I'd love to visit with you and maybe share a Charley Garner story or two.
See ya soon,
Jim
