There are quite a few clips from the Wilburn Bros. show on YouTube, many with Hal Rugg. Here's one with a great solo that was listed as a "Related Video"

I spoke with Hal at the Mesa show in '04 and he told me about a spot on his lung the doctors were concerned about and then months later we lost him. He surely made his mark in the music business over the years and took with him a wonderful gift.

Hal in top shape.
I'll never pass up a chance to talk about Hal. I met the man once. He played at Jeff's steel college in Feb of '78. My belief is that Hal would have made as good a teacher as Jeff. He sat there explaining to 20 - odd students how he played this and that and his patience was second to none. A born teacher.
Hal was instant friends with everybody. He had as much knowledge and technique on the steel as any picker today and very few are able to rise to his level of proficiency.

"Arnescountry" has also posted a lot of Wilburn Bros. videos, most with Hal Rugg.

But who's playing steel on this one? Did Hal or Curly ever play a single neck instrument?

Hal played a single neck black keyless Sho-Bud for a year or two, You can see him playing it on some old "Good Old Nashville Music" shows in the 70s, This was a guitar that Sho-Bud was experimenting with, but dropped the idea, au
